Riverdale beauty, Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge on the hit CW drama, nabbed a starring role in Awesomeness Films’ upcoming film, ‘The Stand-In’. According to Deadline, Camila is set to star alongside Matt Walsh, Laura Marano, Noah Centineo and Odiseas Georgiadis. ‘The Stand-In’ is currently in production in New Orleans and being directed by Chris Nelson.
The logline: In a clever scheme to raise money for college, Brooks Rattigan (Centineo) creates a dating app wherein he plays the roll of “stand-in” boyfriend for every kind of situation you can imagine. Through the journey of being a different person every night of the week, he finds out that the real Brooks isn’t who he thought at all and to his surprise falls for the real girl of his dreams.
Mendes is Shelby Pace, a beautiful, fashionable, private school student who is bored by her wealthy male suitors.
